Chief Medical Officer Annual Report 2024
Health in Cities is the topic of the 2024 annual report from Professor Sir Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England and the UK government’s Chief Medical Adviser.
The report outlines a broad range of health opportunities and challenges for city populations, and includes case studies from core cities in England.
We are very proud to note that one of our own services featured among these best practice case studies.

Led collaboratively by Haringey GP Federation and Whittington Health, the Haringey Multi-Agency Care and Coordination (MACC) team supports adults living with frailty and/or multiple health conditions to improve their health, independence and well-being.
The team has had a significant impact in 2023/24, supporting over 2000 older adults in 2023/24 and reducing emergency department and hospital admissions by 40%, saving the NHS over £1 million.
Recognition in this influential publication is a real testament to the impact of the highly collaborative approach of this service.
