GP@The Grove Expands to HAGA

Enhancing Access to Primary Care for Substance Misuse Patients
Our award winning GP @The Grove Service provides primary care treatment for patients undergoing substance misuse treatment at The Grove Drug Service.
We are pleased to announce that this service will soon be expanding to alcohol recovery service HAGA.
From May 2025, a dedicated GP clinic for HAGA patients will be introduced, further strengthening our commitment to providing accessible healthcare.
What does this mean for patients?
This expansion is an important step in ensuring that individuals accessing alcohol and drug recovery services receive the primary care support they need, directly within the settings they trust.
For the past two years, GP@The Grove has successfully provided tailored healthcare services to patients at The Grove Drug Treatment Service in Tottenham.
Now, with the inclusion of HAGA Action on Alcohol, we can extend this integrated approach to more patients who may face challenges in accessing traditional GP services.

A holistic approach to healthcare
Patients receiving treatment for substance misuse often experience complex health conditions alongside barriers to routine medical care.
The GP@The Grove service aims to bridge this gap by offering:
- Comprehensive health assessments within addiction treatment settings
- Personalised care plans that align with recovery goals
- Close collaboration with recovery teams and patients’ registered GPs
- A ‘team around the patient’ approach to ensure joined-up support
By embedding primary care within more addiction services, we hope to empower both patients and healthcare professionals to work towards better health outcomes in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
